Take a look at what you can study with us...

So no one ever said you had to learn English through boring textbooks the whole time!
Take a break and have a go at learning while actually doing something fun, like reading your favourite book.
With Whatnot you have the freedom to select any book in the entire world, and together we will analyse the story, the characters and settings, the dialogue and much more.
The aim of course is to instill in you the confidence to go out and tackle other works of literature all by yourself.
There are a million other worlds out there, full of romance, horror, fantasy, comedy and tragedy. Let's explore them together!
Did you ever read the story about the girl who met a magic cat who granted her a wish, to become anyone she wanted for a day, and chose to become her school's principal?
No?!
That's because you haven't written it yet. Our Creative Writing course will introduce you to many aspects of story writing, such as how to create more interesting characters, how to describe the settings in more detail, and how to create tension, humour, and excitement in your stories.
We will help to you try and master writing dialogue, using figurative language, and even writing songs or poetry.

Okay, so you're pretty handy and keeping a text conversation going with one of your foreign friends. And your confidence is growing all the time when you engage English speakers in spoken conversation. That's great. Hopefully that is all you need to use the language for.
If, however, you require English for your university course, or in any other formal situation, well, you're going to have to get used to reading and writing Academic English. And it is not going to be as enjoyable as some of the other forms you may have become familiar with.
Anyway, without wanting to frighten you too much (ha!), at Whatnot we are here to give you a big helping hand with our Academic English course.
You can either submit one of your own personal essays to us, or we can provide you with essay questions. Then simply allow us to review your answer and give you comprehensive feedback on ways that you can improve your written English.
Talk. Speak. Say. Chat. Natter. Gossip. Babble. Prattle. Blather. Yak. Gab. Jaw. Mumble. Moan. Bicker. Argue. Complain. Confess. Admit. Brag. Boast. Lie. Exaggerate. Chew the fat. Have a chinwag. Spill the beans.
There are hundreds of wonderful words and phrases in English that express the daily activity of oral communication. And what could be more important than chatting with your friends and neighbours?
Sure, we learn languages to allow us to further our career, to pass an important test, or to help us understand foreign cultures. But deep down, nothing is more satisfying than being able to ask someone about themselves, using their own language, and actually understanding the answer they give back.
Allow us to prepare lessons that are more tuned to your likes and interests. Just tell us, for example, that you love talking about music, and we will take that into consideration when designing your curriculum. Or maybe you like fashion, politics, history, animals. Whatever it is, just let us know!
Our lessons are not just about idle chit-chat however. We will use the dialogue in order to find out how and where you perhaps need a little bit of guidance, and we will also provide grammar and vocabulary tasks.
